A Resilient Stand

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

The bush, gnarled by the east wind, stands alone. Tall grasses bend around it. Above, the sky is wide and clouded, the world reduced to the starkness of survival on the Tasmanian coast.

Specific Feedback

Any feedback welcome

I love the “rugged individual” tree photos, and this is absolutely one of those.
I noticed that if the top is cropped, leaving only the tree and one cloud, the 2 elements seem to be in a conversation of sorts. The other cloud seems to distract. I wondered about bringing out some detail in the blacks of the tree and maybe cropping some bottom, but I like what you have done in both of those considerations.

Thanks Dick for your comments and suggestion. I will certainly have a look at that crop and post the results as soon as I can. Thanks again!
