The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
I came across this fly yesterday (Exorista genus). Then I saw it was two flies. Mating, I guess, but they flew off before I could be sure. Predation perhaps, or nursing, unlikely. Any other possibilities?

Mike: Not sure of the behavior but I am sure about the capture; just fantastic! I generally don’t care much for flies but they can make great subjects with the eyes so superbly captured as you did here. The perch and BG are pretty spectacular too. Most excellent.>=))>
Ditto @Bill_Fach! Wonderful detail, perch and BG. If you are so inclined, I could see a version with lower saturation in the greens (which may be more yellows) and the bright perch toned down a bit.
Mike, this is stunning with all of the detail in the two flies. If this is mating, it’s unusual for the male to be so much larger than the female, so maybe its the male on the bottom… If they flew off separately, then it’s unlikely to be predation, plus I don’t see mouthparts in action on the upper fly. The two water drops, seen in the large view, are a fun extra.
Thanks @Mark_Seaver - I agree its probably mating. I’ve noticed that the (larger) female butterfly is often holding on to something while above the male in copulation, so maybe Mrs Fly is providing some similar sort of support here. At least it’s simpler than dragonfly pairing!
Very interesting behavioral scene. It does look like mating to me and I’d be very interested to follow this conversation to know exactly what we are looking at. I do agree with Jim concerning the saturation of greens and yellows, and I would not have used this much denoise, as too much detail has dissapeared imo. But the scene is great and interesting, and nicely captured. Absolutely worth the EP! Grt, Ingrid.
Mike, I sure missed this amazing closeup image. Can’t add anymore points on the image beyond saying it’s truly stunning and congratulations on the EP selection. Very well deserved…
