Shore Fly (Ephydridae)

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I took this one last Summer and was amazed at the details present in the wings! The fly is about 4mm in length and I cropped the photo slightly to make the fly more prominent in the comp. I was very conservative in applying noise reduction for preserving some of the crisp details.

The composition works fine for me, Jim. I do like the detail in the wing. Very well done.

Very nice, Jim. Great details in the wings and I just love how he positioned himself with legs holding onto both leaves rather than just standing on one leaf. Nicely done!

Wow !!! The wings and eyes are amazing. Well Done !!!

Jim: I often find flies hard to shoot and overall pretty ugly but you did really well with this one. Marvelous detail in the wings and eyes as noted and IMO a fine comp. Very well done. .>=))>

Quite amazing! The lighting is very natural and the detail excellent.
