Damselfly on a perfect morning.

Critique Style Requested: Standard

Description

Bright, hazy light, and no wind. On most of those days, I was at work at missed out on the fun. With retirement, I walked down to the Duck Pond and looked for suitable macro-worthy subjects. I love the 200mm for these types of shots–pleasant backgrounds and intense captured detail.

Specific Feedback

I like the BG as much as the subject! How do you feel about the overall comp?

Technical Details

Z9 200mm f4 Micro (1/250 sec at f20, ISO 3200) DeNoise, Levels, Brightness & Contrast, Slight crop from the RH side, rubber stamp tool to remove bright spot in lower lh corner.

Jim: You are a man after my own heart. This is a great capture with marvelous plane of focus and DOF management and a terrific BG. A tiny detail that I like is the silhouette of the legs against the leaf. Exceptionally nice shot. :+1: :+1:>=))>

Jim - a perfect morning, perfect POF, perfect colours, perfect BG = perfect image!
The complimentary greens are harmonious and present a very soothing image.
Excellent work!

Way To COOL !!! Sharp and crisp. You can see his legs going into the plant. Pretty Amazing. !!!

A beautiful composition, Jim, and the detail is awesome. What gets me the most is the way the far legs show faintly through the leaf. Excellent work.

Oooh, nice, Jim. Details throughout the damselfly and perch, with a nice complimentary smooth BG. Can’t get much better than that.
