A View From Above-Alaska

Description:

A large valley glacier as seen from an airplane and shot through a window. The black line is material from the lateral moraine of the merging glacier. It is possible that the black color is from ash once deposited from a volcanic eruption in the past.

Pretty darned amazing, eh?! You got that touch of blue perfectly too.

Now that’s a river of ice. Nicely seen, with excellent clarity for an airplane window.

Mark, the flight was part of my trip to Alaska with National Geographic and this was a small plane which held 4 people. The windows were made of a high grade acrylic and were very clear.

Magnificent photo and amazing leading lines. Well done!

@Jmill59 I really like the color and structure of the ice and the use of lines. It’s nice that the mountains are there for context, but I definitely am not distracted by them. It’s clear where the focus is. Really nice!
