This was once again a return trip to this site after reviewing the TPE program for a sunrise light projection. I’d spotted this errant snag poking out from the side of this very large rock formation during one of my hikes to this area.
The return trip was simple enough and decided to use the longest lens on my MF gear to obtain the look I wanted here. Although I prefer horizontal images this one was a better vertical choice in the end.
Quite an enjoyable image. The combination of the warm light, snag and lines on the rock work well. I might lighten the shadowed rock just a bit, but really minor. Looks good as presented.
Haha, Paul, this reminds me of the term “bad hair day”. I am not quite sure if the left side of the image does much to me. If it were mine, I would probably crop to just before the vertical split line on that face but even as presented, the tree stands out and you have a very nicely lit rock face as well!
Wonderful title and image for this week’s WC. The warm light on the side of the rock adds a lot to the image. I agree with lightening the shadows just a little since it looks like there are some interesting things to see there.
I like this, Paul! It’s kind of like a sore thumb on a sore thumb! The little bush is quite small in the frame but it clearly grabs your attention so it’s perfect for the challenge!
