Absoroka crepuscular rays

We wouldn’t see crepuscular rays if there weren’t cloud shadows. I see this as a fairly standard use of shadows to show off the subject, but that doesn’t make this sunrise view across Paradise Valley any less enjoyable. This is 3 exposures blended to hold down the brightest areas.

Awesome image Mark. I looked around for something to critique and came up empty.

Mark: Makes me want to be there! Just the right amount of landform for my tastes and a wonderful sky. :+1::+1:>=))>

Beautiful image. Your processing has excellent detail and the rays give nice depth. To my eye, a 9x16 crop where the clouds at the top are cropped down but the width remains emphasizes the rays even more. But that is just me and it seems I’m cropping a lot of my landscapes to that ratio lately :-).

A beautiful sky, Mark. Love the rays of sun in the clouds. Just enough of the mountains to establish it’s location, but it is all about the sky and that beautiful sunrise.
