this is a drone image of converging frozen streams in iceland from about 300 ft. i hoped to capture the beauty and elegance of color and texture in this more abstract window into a very remote area of the highlands.
I am drawn to this image as a painterly abstract! I love the colors and forms. The light blue and tan shades are soothing somehow. The whole image feels quite placid. Like sand and water. I like that the scale is ambiguous. However, I find myself wanting a bit more detail to keep my attention for very long. I don’t know how the square format might change the dynamics, so the crop might be something to explore depending on your intention. It’s a compelling shot!
Michael, this has a very organic look with an excellent sense of vertical movement. The square format fits well with the shapes that are included, but there’s no way to tell how a different shape would look, not knowing what’s else is there.
My feeling exactly on that question, Michael. That said I really like this image. The one thing you might do, if you haven’t already, is rotate and flip it to check other orientations. It’s amazing what difference it can make in an abstract. In this case, I’d definitely look at flipping it vertically to see what it does.
Michael: As a fellow drone pilot and one who has Iceland high on my bucket just for opportunities like this I really like this image. Marvelous shapes and I also like the color palette. Well seen and nicely captured. >=))>
