Acorn Action

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

This was taken of an encounter between a male and a female acorn woodpecker in a sunny spot in a busy oak tree. Can’t know if it was a fight, or “love” related. The female (on the left) was in the act of departing here. This was part a of an image capture, which yields a .jpeg file. I usually start off with a RAW image.

Specific Feedback

Does it survive the busy BG? Cropping?

An interesting encounter. I like the background, it contrasts nicely with the woodpeckers.

Interesting interaction shot Dave. Love seeing the behavior whether a stand off or romantic encounter. Birds seem slightly soft to me especially the one on the right. I’m wondering if the bright areas on the branch can be toned down. The setting looks fine to me. Nice behavioral catch.
