The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Here’s one more oak image from last week’s outing. This one has grown on me, and I think I like it just a tad more than the two in my prior post. As a side note, the bluish hint in the background, as in the prior post, is smoke against the far canyon wall (not sky).
Specific Feedback
I don’t have any specific questions on this one, but as always all thoughts and suggestions for improvement are appreciated!

Hi John,
This is another beautifully crafted image and I love the title as well. I have been sitting here for a couple of minutes viewing this as I enjoy the calm serenity of this autumn scene. This has a rich array of warm tones that I find very inviting. I also like that one main limb hovering over the young oaks almost as though it is a nurturing mother watching over her children. My only tiny suggestion would be to remove that limb in the URC. Wonderful image!
Dear John, I agree with several others, it is beautiful. To my eyes, the arch made by the horizontal branch is important, because it centers my attention, enjoying the contrast between the golden colors of the leaves in the foreground and the lush green in the background, and the depth thus created. Well done.
John, this is wonderful. The visual balance is perfect with the big branch holding the two sides together and the color shifts looking good from bottom to top. It’s easy to get lost in this view.
The richness in color and detail and the subtlety of the light all come together so beautifully in this photo. The composition is so well balanced that the eye just keep moving around discovering the depth in this photo. Wonderful work.
Wow, everything that’s been said already. The fiery red and orange colors of the foreground shrubs under the arching branch and the foreground and background greenery that contrast with it are what makes this image so beautiful to me. This is just beautifully framed, John. There is such depth to this image. I agree with @Ed_Lowe about the URC but maybe you can just dodge that one angled branch so you don’t have to crop.
Thank you all for the feedback! This was a personal favorite, and I really appreciate that it seems to resonate with others too.
I’ll experiment with that branch in the corner. If there is “stuff” in the upper left corner, I tend to like it in the right as well. I’ll play with replacing it with leaves.
I’m not sure how I missed this one before, but I echo all the wonderful comments above. It is drop-dead gorgeous, with perfect soft light and beautiful colors and composition! Definitely belongs on your wall and in a high-end gallery!
John, I’ve got nothing but love and maybe a little bit of jealousy for this image. Absolutely perfect in every respect. I see several triangles here that all point back toward the primary tree; the golden grasses at the bottom, the oaks right above that, and then the limb arcing over the yellow background foliage forms an abstract triangle. I had to wake up at 0300 this morning and it’s entirely possible that I’m hallucinating. I would sit and stare at this image printed very large on a wall and just enjoy it for hours.
John, this image is agreat piece of art for me.
All the elements work together perfectly to my eye. I am especially fascinated by the eruption of warm colours in the foreground, nicely complemented by the hint of cooler shades in the distance.
