So was this an accident, Dan or did you focus on the widgeon and wait for the Bufflehead to come in to focus? Amazing shot no matter how it happened. Superb detail in both birds and a very nice background.
Thanks Dennis, I grabbed the flying Bufflehead, 10 sharp frames but only one with both sharp.
Total luck they would be in same focal plane at f3.5!
I never saw the wigeon until I looked at the frames.
Shooting floating ducks with 300mm lens, did not expect to get a flight shot.
Certainly a unique shot. Even with just the Bufflehead it is very nice. And a lot of dof on the Bufflehead alone. My guess is Bufflehead is slightly ahead of Widgeon.
Stunning! I would not change a thing about this. If it were mine it would be destined to be a “wall-hanger”. just, WOW!
