Anhinga in Spanish Moss

Taken a long time ago,
Anhinga in the South Carolina low country.
I really enjoyed the moss in the area and loved these birds,

Beautiful, Dan. One of my favorite southern birds and you did an excellent job portraying him. I think this would also work very well as a somewhat wide vertical with just a touch off the left and cropping the right inside the mossy area of the perch. My eye does’t move past the right trunk very easily, so for my taste that area could be removed.

Really excellent job with the detail and composition here. I do like Dennis Plank’s idea of the vertical crop. That would certainly bring more critical sharpness to the gray tree matter adjacent to the perch and remove the slightly out of focus tree on the right…

I really like the composition as is, especially the Spanish moss, but Dennis’s idea is interesting. It gives me a real feeling of being in the south. I’m not sure what you’ve resized this to, but when I fully expand it, there is a loss of IQ. When I just click once, the IQ seems to hold up well.

Love this - the great detail in the bird against the softer moss is very appealing.
Some might suggest it’s a bit centered, but no nits from me.
fine image!

Great natural framing. This could go horizontal or vertical.
