I like the tangle, Don. It works well. Interestingly, the scene reminds me in some ways of this area in the winter when the trees are bare but covered with green from the mosses and algae.
Thanks for commenting, Dennis. Palo verde trees have green limbs and branches which photosynthesize so there’s always some green when you photograph them. In a couple of months they’ll be covered with small yellow flowers. But I like their architecture when they’re bare.
It’s interesting with a multiple exposure like this that it still reads so nicely. A subject like this could just be a jumble, but you did a very nice job with the main lines of the trees flowing through the frame. Also, the colors throughout and nicely treated. Nothing stands out to overpower the feel. Were the three frames all of the same tree? Different trees? Or a tree and then a background? I’m just starting out with ME, thus the questions. Thanks.
Patrick, I’m afraid I don’t remember the three exposures. I’ve found myself wondering how I took multiple-exposure images. I know that I was using additive mode. I often start with significantly under-exposed images intended to provide texture . I usually finish with a more accurately exposed shot that captures key lines and shapes. But I don’t know if I did that here. Thanks for the comment.
This is very interesting, Don. It has a painterly look to it and the colors blend in quite well. Was this taken on a tripod? Was there some ICM? What camera do you have?
Hi Don,
This is indeed a tangle, but it is very well organized that it lets my eye wander around the scene and savor all those lovely pastel colors as well as the intricate details and textures. Beautifully done!
Don: Oh this is marvelous. Love the color palette and the frame filling mess. So much to explore and savor. Nicely conceived, captured and presented. >=))>
