About the processing I am not sure, I did not change the white balance much, tempted to bring down the WB but resisted it

Description

Took this picture very early in the morning , weather was biting cold, had to lie flat on the ground to get the entire canopy, thankfully the deers momentarily looked at the photographers before they went their ways

Kalyanpur, I really like the way you framed the deer. The curved tree trunks on the sides, the canopy on top and the low perspective of the ground frame the deer perfectly. The smooth misty BG silhouette the deer nicely, resulting in an excellent environmental photo!

I think the WB is good as is.

You did not state the focal length used (it feels wider than 50 mm), but it was used to good effect.

Nice!

It is beautifully framed with great atmosphere, really love the mood here !
You may crop off about 1/4th of the forground, if you like.

Thank you Jim, appreciate your lovely words

I like the way the deer are framed and the fog adds great mood. The WB looks good to me, nice cool atmosphere. You can feel the cold. Excellent image and probably a great encounter.
I like @JRajput 's suggestion to crop a little off the FG.

Thank you Han

Beautiful!! The deer are wonderful and I think the WB is very nice – definitely evokes a cold morning. I think @JRajput has a good idea about losing some of the FG – the amount of blur is not helping the scene, for me. Or maybe at least add a slightly darker gradient to push the eye back into the lovely scene! Or maybe cool it down – it’s the only area with the warmer color, which causes it to attract attention.

I love both the composition and the mood of this image!

Thank you Elizabeth

Kalyanpur, This is really outstanding! The mystical mood and outlined trees are wonderful, and the perfect silhouettes of the deer complete a very exceptional image.
I agree to consider cutting a small portion of the bottom off.

I like your image as presented. The slight out of focus area on the bottom foreground does not cause me concern. It is beautifully composed and framed. Outstanding.

Thank you Jim for the feedback, appreciate your input

Really striking image! I love the composition. Wildlife images that show a lot of their environment are my favorite. I wonder if it would enhance the mystery to lighten up the bodies of the deer a bit? Maybe reduce contrast or slide dehaze to the left a bit? Kind of make them blend more into the fog the way the trees do? They are darker than the trees that are in front of them which lends a slightly unnatural look.

Thank you Paul, you are right, blending them with the environment is surely a good idea
