It has been a busy Summer for all the animal parents that live on or around our property. The first time that I saw this recently fledged woodpecker, it was following the male parent around begging for food. Tough love and a few pecks from dad motivated the kid to independence. I liked the BW pattern on the back which compelled me to choose this one over the others.

This bird typically shows up in the evening, and the shaded, bright light was ideal for this shot. How do you like the overall lighting scheme and comp?
A fine image, Jim. The composition, perch and pose all work well together and I like the soft lighting. I could see bringing up the bottom enough to keep the perch from exiting in the corner which would also decenter the bird a bit in the vertical direction.
