I got this guy taking off a while back from a boat, hand held.
Cropping ok? should I lighten the shadow detail some on that left wing?
1/3200th, f 8.0, hand held, 700mm, ISO 640, cropped to 1721 x 1809
Nice detail in the wings and the whites look pretty good, Dave. I’d guess it took off from somewhere in that tree, but the perch isn’t obvious from the image and I think it would work a little better if it were included (assuming you have that in the image). The shadows are fine. If you lightened it, to me it would look forced.
Nice take off pose Dave - good catch. I agree with Dennis that the wing shadows look fine. As far as cropping, I could see a little more on the left. Nice catch.
