BananaRama + Repost

Repost

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

One of our neighbors has this banana tree that has bloomed and fruited the past couple of years. Our recent harsh (for us) winters have damaged the tree but it has bounced back.>=))>

Specific Feedback

There was a little bit of roof showing through in the BG and I tried to darken it to make it a bit less obvious. Any other suggestions for taming it?

Bill Pretty cool. Sharp and very interesting composition. Great texture in the leaves …

I really like the depth of field you used on this one, Bill. Everything that should be sharp is and nothing else is. I see where you played with the roof, and it looks a bit odd to me. I think the edges of your selection could use some refining. I’d probably pick a few of the different shades of green with the color picker, select that area, making sure I had the edges into the foreground by a pixel or two, and splash some blotches of paint in there to give it a textureless but mottled appearance.

Tried some AI magic and I think it’s better. >=))>

I just cut down a bunch of bananas (and the tree) yesterday. A bit more ripe than these. I never thought to photograph them…

I really like the composition and the colours you have here and I love seeing the flower. I think your repost has worked a treat.

Nice job on the repost, Bill. I like it a lot.

So that’s where bananas come from! I always thought it was Whole Foods.

Seriously excellent capture and the RP was the perfect touch. The flowers look worth some serious attention, too!

Fascinating subject Bill. It’s really busy, but all comes together nicely. The repost works very well.
