ISO 800, f5.6, 1/60s, shot from vehicle
Cloned out some branches in background.

Any comments appreciated.

Allen, this is a terrific image, and I would venture to say lucky on your part. So nice to get a clean take of such an elusive species.

Beautiful, Allen. I like the way the background trunk defines the left side of the image. I wish that one branch didn’t project into the foreground, but you can’t always avoid that.

Nice clean shot with a wonderful natural setting. The bird is striking enough that the OOF branch doesn’t bother me.

Great look with eye contact and superb habitat…
Did you add catchlights? A bit more room above would be nice but extremely minor critique.
Excellent.

Hi Dan, no, I did not add anything to the eyes.

Just wondering as sometimes they do not have them.
I add catchlights if appropriate.
Superb photo, wish it was mine…

I think this capture is just stunning. I always hope to get to see an owl in the daytime. Fingers crossed!
