Gill: You definitely improved the shot with your edit. My first impression when viewing the original was to make the empty right side BG go away. With the repost there is nothing taking away from the beetle and flowers. The detail on the beetle is rendered very nicely.
I wouldn’t crop this particular capture but when in the field viewing this scene I would do an alternate comp in portrait orientation to emphasize the vertical direction of the flower and the beetle seeming to be climbing the wall. Keep up the good work. >=))>
Gill: I edited your title to indicate you made an edit. You can do that yourself by using the pencil icon by the original title. It’s always a good idea to do so so that others will know to revisit the image. >=))>
Yes. I totally understand. I left the flower on the left because I actually shot this image with a fixed 24 mm wide angle lens. So I had lots of room. I think both edits work. Thanks for showing interest and your feedback.
I really appreciate it.
Peace to our Planet.
Gill, I like the advice that @Bill_Fach gave for when you are shooting a shot like this. The vertical just works so well with the flower and the beetle. Some wide angle lens are good for macro, but I find that using it is best when I am trying to show the environment that is far enough away to be oof. Just a thought.
I was kinda trying to show where this guy was. Only had my wide angle lens with me. Didn’t really plan on shooting any more BUGS. (HA HA). But there he was in all these red flowers. So I shot some images and see what happens.
Thanks for your comments and education. That’s why I posted this image. Always learning and looking around for different items.
