Big Elm Hugging

Description: Here in Central Vermont most Big Elms have succumbed to Dutch Elm Disease; this is the last and clearly shows signs of resistance to the disease. I love the tree and I love that my friend Ashley is giving it a big hug.

John, this is a delightful view with your friend showing well how big the tree is. Thanks for the morning grin.

Sorry to hear about the disease John, but this puts a smile on my face.

Yes, it is a fungus spread by a beetle. Since the 1920s over 77 million elms have died of DED. She always puts a big smile on my face too!
