Birding Central Park #2

Female Downy Woodpecker

Male Downy Woodpecker

House Sparrow

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

I like the slate colored Dark-eyed Junco as it is different from the typical variety I see out west, Downy Woodpeckers are fairly common in the park and the House Sparrow is by far the most common bird seen.

Specific Feedback

Any thoughts appreciated.

Nice images Allen. Looks like you had a very fine trip to NYC. Nice sharpness and light on all the images. I believe the pure slate gray color of the Junco makes this guy a male. The females I see down here aren’t totally slate gray. I could see removing the faint leaves on the right edge in the first image.

Very nice, Allen. I agree that the leaves on the right side of the junco image could go and I’d be tempted to give the two woodpeckers a bit more breathing room if it doesn’t get too ugly on the edges.
