Blizzard Dahlia and Friends

Image:

Description:

The October freeze wiped out all of our flowers and I did not spend much time photographing them. This shot is of a dahlia variety named Blizzard and it can produce 20 flowers at a time. I left the insects in the photo as they add a touch of humor to a dead pan serious flower photo.

Another softly lit, beautifully modeled flower. You have a way with these complex and frowsy flowers. The bug is a great detail and I’m glad you left it in. The background makes me wonder if it is those fuzzy grass things people love to plant and so maybe a bit more blur there? Subjective, totally.
