I’ll bet for every in-focus shot of a dragonfly in flight, I shoot a hundred more. Little buggers just dart here and there and back to here…even when I know pretty much where it will be at one interval, and even shooting f/8, it’s still one of those things that will drive a body to scream.

Chris, I agree with Mike, I find this to be the most difficult shot, and so far, unsuccessful for me, so kudos to you on this excellent shot. I too like the lighting. Nice smooth BG as well. Great in flight shot.
I’ve never gotten a DIF shot despite hours sitting on the deck shooting them emerging from their larval states. Cracking! Those folded legs knock me out. You could try dodging the body and eye just a little bit to bring up some detail there.
