Bugle Corps

Image Description

We have a number of hibiscus plants in our garden and this one has continued to bloom steadily over the past six to eight weeks. It likes the slightly cooler weather. Each flower only lasts a day so one must strike while the iron is hot so to speak. >=))>

Wanted to place the emphasis on the little “horns” at the end. At macro distances and magnifications the DOF is still pretty small even at f16. I also felt that the focus fall off was complemented by the light fall off as well.

Bill, it has a peaceful feel to it with the short or softened DOF. It reminds me of results I get from my 150mm Soft Focus Lens. I think the horns in fine focus at the end were the main POV and for that your capture is spot on… :+1: :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

This is a gorgeous image Bill! Love the title as well; its very fitting.

The bottom part of the stamen is just outstanding. It’s so “sharply soft”?, like velvet and those little yellow pom-poms are the icing on the cake.

The diagonal flow across the page is lovely and the background is striking. I thought at first glance a slice off the top would benefit the lower part, but I wouldn’t want to lose any of that red against the blue.
