Bunya Pine frond fall

Image(s)

Image Description

Bunya Pine trees are a native conifer in Southeastern Queensland rainforests and grow 35-40 metres tall. The decaying pine fronds produce a wonderful array of colours, and the large heavy nuts (not pictured here) are a highly nutritious food source . They are also lethal if they land on your head!

Very little processing done, just a little sharpening on the edges.

I was captivated by the colour and textures of these fronds but wondered if the lighting needed a boost?

Diny: Oh this is fine! Marvelous color palette and textures and the light is spectacular. Not suer what the little “flower” is but it’s a great complementary element. Most excellent. :+1: :+1: >=))>

Absolutely fine!! Fascinating interplay of shapes and unexpected colors! The lighting looks perfect to me – I’m peering into the darker regions but there is perfect detail there. I wouldn’t change a thing!!

And now, on top of your birds and marsupials, we discover that your forest floor detrius is much more interesting than ours!! Keep posting whatever strikes your fancy!

Diny: The composition, textures, colors, and lighting are all superb. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Diny, this is an excellent collection of tones, shapes and brightness. Since it’s moderately abstract, I do suggest some mid-tone dodging along the dark string of nearly vertical fronds just left of the left 1/3 line. I think some dodging there would even out the viewing.

This is just lovely. The light was really on your side here. I agree with @Mark_Seaver regarding the dodging. The textures are excellent!

Well done!
