Description
this was taken in my yard after one of the rare snowstorms that we got in Olympia. We’re lucky if we see snow once a year. But sometimes we get a foot or more. It’s pretty rare though.
Specific Feedback
anything that helps me in my quest to improve my creativity
Technical Details
yeah, I just can’t find the data on this one

Hi David. The Bushtit is perfect. I have no idea what your framing constraints were, but a bit more room on the top might be nice.

Glad you could get it posted. I like this composition a lot.
Another gorgeous capture! I love the subtle winter scene! For my taste, I’d add a little less (about half that much) on top, but no right or wrong there. There is some oversharpening on the tail and wingtip – I like to sharpen on a top layer and mask out (maybe at ~50%) the areas where it gets harsh. With a soft-edged brush it can be very believable.
RePost looks pretty good. Have you thought about reducing the brightness of the OOF snow on the branch behind the bird? Very nice pose and I think that Diane’s method for sharpening will be worth trying to control some of the crunchier feathers. Other than that, I like the browns against the gray BG and this one will look good as a print for the wall……Jim
