Description
Saw this dragon at a local pond recently. My favorite dragonfly.
Specific Feedback
The light was coming from the upper right in this shot and I liked the way it shown through the perch. I decided to make a strong diagonal with the perch. Any thoughts on composition?

Love it!! Awesome subject, photography and presentation. I wonder about lowering the saturation of the reed just a bit? And maybe burn it slightly on a gradient toward the bottom? But that hardly rates as a complaint for this gorgeous image!
I like the arrow like trajectories of the insect and the reed. It feels energetic and that there will be sudden movement at any second. Excellent angle, too, letting us see so much of the pattern and texture. I’m ok with the saturation in the reed, but reducing it wouldn’t hurt anything I don’t think.
The DOF is excellent for this type of shot. Calico pennants have a lot of bright colors in those wing veins and you captured this perfectly. I have no nits and like the image as presented…Jim
Wow, this is exceptional! The detail, especially in the wings, is just remarkable.
Great colours in the 'fly, set off by the green reed.
IMO, darkening the reed a bit would focus the eye on the 'fly - as it is, the reed kinda competes.
Allen: Exceptional indeed. A terrific subject in great shape on a great perch in great light. Really good work to get the entire body and wing structure sharp. Top notch image. >=))>
