A fine look at this beauty, Allen. Nice details in the DF and that nice smooth BG (which must have been some distance from him at f16), makes him stand out nicely.

What a gorgeous shot of a gorgeous subject!! We have nothing this pretty out here. The detail in the wings is exquisite, with perfect DOF!! The grayish BG is wonderful to show off the subject!

Absolute detail is remarkable. I have always heard these called Halloween Pennants so now am wondering if this is just a regional description or I have been wrong all these years.

Hi Chris. Thanks… Halloween Pennants are a similar looking species and a little bigger. We have both species in the southeast US.

I am located in NW Florida, AKA lower Alabama and see these probably as often as the Blue Darters. Thanks for clearing up the confusion on my part.
