The original image showed the geese silhouetted against a cloudy, blue sky. Conversion to black and white changed the mood of the image.

I like the B&W conversion on this one, Allen. I like the diversity of silhouettes in this little flock, though I’m a bit ambivalent about the one with the head in front of the far wing. However, it does help make the geometry of the image more interesting.

Hi Allen, nice black and white treatment that sets an intriguing mood. I like how the clouds provide a really interesting backdrop and the dark geese stand out against it. There seems to be a sensor spot in ULC that can be removed. Nice work.

Hi Allen. I really like the black & white treatment here. B&W can create a wonderful ‘moodiness’ in an image where colour might otherwise dominate. I like how, in this image of yours, it has put emphasis on the shapes and attitudes of the birds rather than details of colour, feathers etc.
I don’t mind about the natural arrangement of the birds because with B&W it creates interest as you roam about the photo exploring the relationship of the birds to one another and their different wing aspects.
To me, this is a delightful image. Cheers.

YES !!! Perfect in B&W. This image really caught my eye with the black birds against the gray sky. The image shows movement !!! It has a simplicity and a soul !!!
