Image Description
I live close to one of our State Parks, so this scene is generally played out several times a year. I love when the Osprey’s return to Colorado and in this park, there are five (5) ponds that are generally stocked by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife, so there is ample fish for the big birds and humans alike.
This image was from nearly the same time April 21, 2024 in the mid-afternoon. I spent the afternoon out photographing the wildlife and this Osprey had just pulled this trout from the pond and headed to this tall tree. The tree is used by both Osprey’s and Eagles. Early spring and the ice was already off the water.
I felt lucky to set up the tripod and camera and allowed to photography this great bird feed. Granted, it was easily 30 feet up in the air on the branch, so the 600mm lens was good choice for reach.
