Sweet image, Dan. I really like the depth of field in this one with everything in front of the bird in pretty crisp focus. We have the native wild cherries, but they never produce anything that I’ve seen. Maybe I should get some domestic ones.
@Dennis_Plank This is an abandoned domestic tree on a neighbors property. I suspect it is a Royal Ann that is 20+ years old. I have a series of these photos some of which actually showing the waxwings feasting. However, I like the turn of the head and focus on the eye in this shot.
Lot to like about this image. Nice head turn and it looks to be about eye level. Good detail and the waxed wings are shown nicely. I like how the leaves frame the bird.
Hi Dan, I always love seeing these birds and this is a fine profile shot showing off the yellow tip on the tail and the red on the wing. I like the head turn too. Would love to see more of the feeding poses you captured.
@Allen_Sparks Here is another shot of the waxwing feeding in the cherry tree. Unfortunately, I had to shoot from below the bird.

Beautiful image Daniel, with leaves and cherries providing context. Great detail in the bird and I like the head turn too. Quite a handsome fellow.
Hi Daniel
In both photographs the eye contact, the whole story. What are you doing back there. The shots have nice feather detail and the overall exposer looks good. Thank you for these fine looking birds.
