Living in sunny sub-tropical Queensland does not give many photographic opportunities for snowy images, so I’ll throw this one into the mix. I hope there’s not too many people in it. No offence taken if it’s removed.
This is how many Queenslanders spend their Christmas holidays.
Lovely beach scene for the holidays Glenys. Looks a lot warmer than what we have here in the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. Been a little too warm for snow around here this year though.
Glennie: What an absolutely glorious scene! Makes me want to be there. I like the inclusion of the people but wonder how they could pay any attention to their game with a sunrise (?) like this. Marvelous reminder that in your part of the world Christmas is in high summer. >=))>
I love everything about this – the sky and clouds and the reflection on the wet sand are wonderful, both in colors and shapes. Makes me wonder if it’s sunrise or sunset, but probably sunset from the people on the beach. Maybe it just got cool enough to come out to play. The slightly pano crop works to pan from the shore to the waves. The only slight distraction, for me, is the bit of brighter cloud in the UL.
Glennie, this is a fine change-of-pace from snowy scenes. It is also a good reminder that there are photographers who don’t live in the Northern Hemisphere. The people are not the main subject so it’s a fine “nature” view.
Hi Glennie,
Nice to see how other folks around the world celebrate Christmas. That gorgeous light warming up the clouds in the sky and reflected in the wet sand is truly beautiful. This looks very inviting and the people add a nice sense of place. My only suggestion is the same as @Diane_Miller about the bright cloud in the ULC. Beautifully done.
