Many Mornings in Paradise Valley, MT come with clouds at all layers, from river level to high in the sky. They often are moving in different directions with the clouds below the tops of the mountains moving up the valley (to the right, South) and the clouds above the mountains moving to the left, North. Having the sun break through and lighting up the low clouds adds some drama.

Sunlight hitting that lowest cloud was what prompted me to take this picture.
Great example of using layers for dramatic effect. The light was working for you. Just a thought, but you might consider a slight dodge of the foreground to pull up the details there. Other than that small item, this really looks nice, Mark.

Great Image. I agree ,maybe dodge the FG a little. The clouds and hills are really nice. Beautiful composition. I love the open vast look in your vision. Very Cool !!!
Mark: What a wonderful place this is and the atmospherics are marvelous. I love that this is a totally unrepeatable moment so superbly captured. Many kudos. >=))>
The light is definitely the star here. I think the image really works to convey the drama. This is the kind of scene where, these days, I’d hit the HDR button in Lightroom to see what the image looks like with the full dynamic range of my MacBooks display.
