Not much to tell, an old wharf close to my home, just love to seat there and watch the sea, the sunset, and the people standing on it and watching the peaceful sunset.
The long exposure took out the people on the wharf which works fine for me, didn’t want something there that will attract the viewer’s eye and left details on the rocks and wharf only.
Serenity is the feeling I am getting. I like the detail of the shells in the foreground–a nice supporting element. I agree with @Diane_Miller about the horizon.
Ron, this is a beautiful scene. The Long Exposure works very weak to smooth out the water, and I am sure it takes the contrast down to a nice level too. The repost with the straightened horizon is awesome!
I like how the wharf is creating a leading line into that nice sunset. Imagine if there was even more of an established subject out there (alien ship, sun, moon, unicorn). =)
A beautiful and tranquil scene. And despite the classic “pier at dusk with long exposure” subject, I find this one to be a bit different, in a very positive way. A few thiings - One, Iike the angle of the pier going off in to the distance - almost get the feeling of infinity… The clouds and sky are just gorgeous and they’re long, extracted presence really helps fill the frame up top. then there’s the silky water. And the foreground rock, moss and even the shells and reflections along the bottom are working well and completing the composition.
My only wish would be some sharper detail at the bottom, but that’s pretty minor. Love, love the colors. Well done!
