I think you have to make really big prints before the image quality shows up. Although I would have liked slightly stronger contrasts, surprisingly the last picture feels the most comfortable. Really nice comp and color scheme

Thank you for your comments. There was a surprising amount of interest in this one. I suppose it’s due to it being different than what is often posted here. Well, I did go to the trouble of printing this one and I have to say it was underwhelming. Yes, there was a nice design of shapes and colors within the frame but beyond that it really didn’t speak to me. I also printed the previous Hoh forest scene with the 3 trees and that one was considerably more impactful.
For the record I enjoy (C) the most. I like the soft opposing hues. I personally think these type of shots work best not individually as I don’t feel they are strong enough on their own, however as a collection of three or so similarly themed prints, which melt in with somone’s decor, ( not tryptichs ), I have often sold them together as a collection of smaller thematically framed prints.
I believe you’re right. This is a decorative image that might look good gracing a living room or bathroom wall.
This is one of those images that if you actually pause to take it in, it catches you off guard. It has such richness in texture and color. If you don’t miss it by rushing by, it is wonderful to gaze at for awhile. Because C accentuates that fact, it is my favorite; it is subtle, yet beautiful.
I agree with Ian that a series of images like this would be very strong together.
C.
I see it printed small as part of a larger gallery. Less contrast, more of a supporting image.
Something to cleanse your palate for other impactful images (Закуска).
Beautiful, calm.
I like the composition and the pastel colors. Very satisfying to look at. I think all the variations work but will throw in a zone 6.5 version just so the monochrome possibilities don’t get overlooked.
Thank you for your effort, Tony. Had I known there would be so much interest I might have worked harder on the processing. The reds in the last version are just a tad to saturated.
I prefer the cooler image. To my eye, the colors in the cooler image are richer. They seem more muted in the warmer image, perhaps because the contrast between the blues and browns is less distinct.
