Although I had fairly clear skies and bright light, getting anything to come close enough has been an issue in my area. These crows are pretty fast when it comes to flight and difficult to expose properly.

I think you did well here David. Details on the sunny part of the crow looks good to me and I like the upward pose. Nice background.

Well David, these last few posting are proving, Sony may just have something going for it with this A1 camera. The black dynamic range and detail on this Crow is vary nice. Good work.

Very good, David. Excellent detail in the plumage and a great flight pose. I might play with the sunny parts to try to get a bit more black into them, but it would be tricky.

I think you got nice detail here for a black bird. I’m not sure a cloudy day would be better – maybe with very thin high clouds… I often use Turkey Vultures (readily available) for flight practice and rarely get any keepers.
