Dahlia

It’s Dahlia season. I am experimenting with some dahlia flowers. I will post a few of those in succeeding posts. My first post in this forum.

I chose this one because I liked the subtle shades of colors on lighter colored petals. A light tent used for natural backlighting and diffusing light. Used the built in flash with a compensation of -2.
Canon 7DII + 100/2.8 IS + tripod
Canon DPP4, PSCC, full image without cropping, Nik detail extractor and tonal contrast around 20%.

I think I made a mistake in tagging the region. It should be garden.

Placement/composition is spot on. Lighting and details excellent. No nits from me. Hope to see more of your work.

This is gorgeous, Ravi. I love the lighting and colors. The composition is really nice. :+1::+1:

My wife has one that looks like the dahlia in your photo. An excellent choice and your comp is spot on for this type of closeup. Well done…Jim

This is a exquisite! Perfect! No nits from me!

Ravi: Classic dahlia comp and a wonderful result. I like this very much as is but I like it better flipped horizontally. Our western mind is trained to read left to right and I find compositions that tend to flow that way a bit more natural and easy to view. Just my 2 cents. Most excellent either way. >=))>

Hi Bill,
I like the image that is tipped horizontally. I am not sure why it is more pleasing to the eyes this way than I had presented.
