Lighting on this flower was very nice. The flower is a very dark red, almost black, but in stronger light, the reds show up nicely…Jim

Jim: What a beauty and a great rendering of it. I like the bud on the left but I would be tempted to make the little stray sepal on the right BG bud go away. I’m OK with the stem going to the hidden bud but that little finger got my attention immediately. That’s a pretty tiny nit though as the subject and complementary BG make the image. Top notch. >=))>
Jim: I like how the dark, rich reds of the Dahlia are contrasted with the oof light greens which brings out the detail and tonal differences in the flower. Your composition with the bud alongside the flower is spot on. Congrats! Richard
wonderful comp Jim, the colors as well as the background came out great. I see the advantage of using a long FL lens. I like how both are focused well.
Jim, Lovely image of a lovely daisy. Everything comes together - composition, color, oof background, sharpness and the subject. perfect dof. The flower bud and leaves add to the image.
Your choice of a vertical pano crop works because of the space between the flower and the first set of leaves. Beautiful dahlia flower and bud placement to complete the scene.
