Another one from yesterday. These guys and the House Finches have already fledged some. I saw Papa feeding this one just after this, but not where I could shoot them.

Minimal tonal tweaks in LR, and denoise. Into PS to clean up some messy branches and crop to 28% of original pixels.
Hi Diane, this is a very interesting image to me as we have the dark-eyed junco adults down south in winter but they migrate north for breeding season. First time I have seen a juvenile. Details looks great and I love seeing that eye so well including a great look at the pupil. I think the out of focus sticks above the bird’s head could go. Nice image.
Thanks, @Allen_Sparks ! The limbs were bugging me, too. I’ve done a RP – it makes the bird stand out better but I’m wondering if it looks natural enough?
Looks okay to me even though you took out more than I was thinking. I thought maybe leave in the branch coming out near the tail and the remnant near the legs.
Interesting thought, @Allen_Sparks – I can mask back to leave just that part – will have a look later.
Great focus details and coloring throughout the bird, Diane. Clean up looks very good. I don’t see these juveniles either.
Thanaks, @Stephen_Stanton ! And @Allen_Sparks , I’m still unsure of the cleanup. I posted another version above with that one branch left in, along with the original. Maybe I should have been happy with what nature gave me?? (That’s not usually an instinct with women.)
