Hi Allen:

This is a lovely image of the junco with a great background. The DOF is just right for me to still have some definition in the background. Nice. I’m still not wild about the final crop and comp. Just feels like too much negative space a the top and crowded at the bottom. I played with a crop in PS to see what other options might work. Here’s one option that I prefer. See what you think.

Love it, Keith, thanks. The Junco really stands out with your crop.

Very nice capture, Allen. I also like Keith’s crop.

I like the somber colored bird against that gold background, Allen. Detail in the bird and composition are both good.

Hello, Allen, lovely shot of this Junco and I think the coloured leaves frame the bird very nicely. I see Keith’s point, however the original post works for me as well. But then, I like dead space in images more often than not ! Cheers, Hans
