The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Sometimes it’s fun to go back to a really good session and find something you missed the first time. In this case this Juvenile Cooper’s Hawk was hanging around most of one day in August of 2016. It was a day of intermittent sun and showers which made for some interesting photography and this bird was a very cooperative subject. Even after culling the folder for that session has over 600 images of this bird.
Specific Feedback
This is a pretty substantial crop so this is almost a 100% view-does it hold up? I was trying to avoid overdoing the plumage texture-is it ok? Any other issues?

LOL! This is great - perfect DOF and detail, intent stare, funky feathers, and a nice BG. All with an older camera - shows the skill of the photographer. I appreciate older images being dug up - lots to learn there.
Love it!
I’m in full agreement with Sandy. He looks very intense. Looks like the wind is at his back blowing up his feathers. Sure is a different view and I like it. Thanks
I love the stare here Dennis. It looks really good for such a big crop. I’ve been going back through some of my old files too and finding one or two that I’d overlooked to start with.
Love it! Not only for the wonderful expression and fluffy feathers, but also how technically good it is. 8 years ago. I’m still using my 7DII (with 100/400L ) a lot, and like the quality of images it captures. Your image is a fine example. It may be time, however, to seek something lighter. Hand holding is getting a bit more difficult.
SUPER!! All said above! I’ve got a huge smile and a renewed appreciation of old images! Speaking of old, @Jim_Gavin, factor in one thing in the desire to go lighter: the newest bodies and lenses have so much better AF and IS that hand holding can get much better sharpness than it used to even with the moderately heavy rigs. I was hand holding the Robin I posted this morning, not even using the kneepod technique – just standing, trying to look like a tree. (I wasn’t as low as it looks.) I got maybe 30 frames over several minutes and most were sharp. I’d love to have a rig that weighs half as much or less, but I don’t think I would like the results.
Hi Dennis
This is a great look, the eye contact and feather detail is great. The 7Dll was my prime camera until 3 years ago and Canon goto birding camera.
