Digging for food

I prefer photographing bees with a strong color contrast but the red here I think helped do that. With a small tripod waiting I have the time until a bee comes around. I was low to the ground at a angle and wanted to set focus on the bee directly.

Anything Helps. I did have the entire flower in the FOV but this is the crop I went with

Is this a composite: No
Canon 6D ii LB Velvet 56mm set at F/8 I believe. ISO 200 1/250 sec. in Bright sunlight
No post process really expect I sharpen only the eye just a bit. I set the lens at 7 inches and moved back and forth for focus since this lens does not talk to the camera.

A very nice capture, Dean. A great position you caught him in. He is framed nicely with the flower. Wonderful colors and details.
