Usually when a bird has caught a fish we concentrate on the bird, but here we are really drawn to the displayed fish. The Darter is signalling “T”-time (sorry!). Great lighting - and background.

Great timing, Jagdeep, and an excellent image. I can’t imagine how ht e darter is going to handle that fish, but I’m sure it did. I hope those filaments at the mouth are part of the fish and not someone’s fishing line.

Great catch Jagdeep. What a great moment captured with the bird being carried in mid air. A unique image for sure. Well done.

@Dennis_Plank those filaments are part of the fish, normally darters took some time to swallow this kind of fish, but on one occasion it got stuck in the beak. The darter came back to it’s perch and then it was able to remove it and then swallow it.
May be I’ll share it sometime later, it’s actually competition stuff.
