The banding folks …is killing this image …appreciate your help
Balan
Love the colors and exposure. Do you see banding at full resolution? It could just be a result of resizing. Typically exporting at 2048 on the long side with all the other settings the same works well.
Hi Balan
I have had issues with banding before as well, just for the record it tends to disappear with 10 bit colour monitors and GPU’s (video cards capable of driving 10 bit colour. unfortunately if you want to maintain ultra smooth colour gradients where it changes hue then the best way is to do as little post processing on that type of image as possible ie (none in the area that is prone to banding).

This may have nothing to do with your image Balan, but the two most common things that have given me trouble with banding in the past are working in 8-bit and using masks (especially gradient masks). For the first issue, I do all my work in 16-bit, and only move to 8-bit after downsizing as a final step prior to posting. For the second, adding just enough noise to the mask to kill the banding can work a charm. Again, these may not apply to your image but I thought I’d toss them out just in case.
Hello @Balan_Vinod! This is a wonderful sunset (rise?). I don’t see banding. I’d love to know where this was taken. Ocean or a mountain landscape (looking down)?
Susanna …many thanks for your comment on my Image. Its on the west coast of India, facing the arabian, sea. I did have a mountain the mountain behind me and am posing an image in " everything else" taken from the mountain looking down at the sea.
