Another image from the same day and location as my last post. This Coot was nice enough to give me quite a session. I couldn’t help chuckling at the chubby look of this pose.
Specific Feedback Requested
Anything. I tried to subdue the reeds quite a bit to keep them from overpowering the Coot. I also did some cleaning up in the upper right, but I’m not sure I like it.

It’s a beautiful coot portrait and I like it a lot. Having spent quite some time last year photographing coots my first reaction to your picture was “what a beautiful coot and nice background!” The upper right corner doesn’t bother me at all.
Nice one Dennis. A look at a Coot we don’t often get. Plump feet for sure. Top right corner looks fine to me also. It would be nice if it was all reeds but what the heck this is where coot was. And a nice curious look at you.
Upper right looks fine and I like the detail in the feet. I think the harsh lighting does not help with the frontal shield on the head being very bright. There are some slight tonal differences in that area visible in the large version. The coot is quite photogenic and am glad that you captured it with feet included…Jim
