Downey woodpecker

Critique Style Requested: Standard

The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.

Description

this was shot in my backyard several years ago. I do live near some woods which attracts quite a few bird’s, especially woodpeckers. But as their habitat declines in size from construction, we are still fortunate to have a few different species in the neighborhood.

Very nice image, David. The detail in the Downy is exquisite, and the perch fits the bird and its habits nicely.

David, a really fine image - detail is excellent, perch and BG great. I think you posted this before.
If possible, a little more room here on the bottom would balance this a bit more.
Sweet!

HI David
I like the framing and background. The tree branch bring the viewer eye right to the Woodpecker. Nice work.
Peter

Very nice – excellent detail, perch and BG. No nits!

Hi David, love the curvaceous nature of the perch with the bird well positioned on it. Details and exposure look good as well as the background. Love seeing that bit of red too. Nice image.
