Description

we have at least one family of downy woodpecker’s in the woods next to my house. I seen both the male and female regular occasions but they are never very cooperative and rarely find Good perches, as was the case here. one of these days I’ll coax them onto one of my tree limb perches.

Try a vertical log about 3-4 inches in diameter, if you can lay your hands on one, David. A couple of holes with suet or peanut butter on around the curve from your pov and you might get them to use it. You could probably get by with one a foot long or so and hang it vertically from one of your shepherd’s crooks.

This is a really nice image with excellent detail and a pleasing background. I really like it.
