Description

I’ve been seeing several Downy woodpeckers this winter in our marshy areas. This one was very cooperative and gave me a few good looks as it searched the dead tree limb for a snack.

A nice pose; kind of a sweet look you caught her(?) in. Good detail and a nice perch. Good eye contact. For me they’re usually turned away, busy pecking on the tree.

Hi Ed, nice look at this Downy. Such cute woodpeckers. I like the full look at the head even though it seems a bit soft to me in the largest image size. The scraggly perch adds some interest too. Nice catch.
