Duke's Mixture Poinsettia

A Studio photo of a potted poinsettia, employing a variety of techniques. A little focus stacking (7 images), a little High Key, a little oil painting and a little texture. It still looks like a Christmas Poinsettia, so I parked it here instead of Photo Art. This was just for fun. The image took me where it seemed to want to go.

I meant for any enhancements to be fairly subdued. Were they?

For the life of me, I cannot seem to post this large. 3 tries and the site insists on a 500 x 500 post, where I am posting at 1600 x 1600. I will try one more time. No luck. Very frustrating!

It looks like the sizing issue got fixed, Phil. Things are enlarging this morning, including this one. Nice job on the focus stacking. The downward angle feels a bit awkward to my eye and it seems, though it may be an illusion, that the pot is tilted a tad to the right. The oil painting effect worked nicely.

Phil: Really well done from capture to processing, what I would call a finished image. I can see Dennis comment about the lean but think its a POV issue and if he hadn’t mentioned it I doubt I would have seen it. Very well done.:+1::+1:>=))>

Nicely done Phil. The texture and brightness of the bg make the lighter values of the plant appropriate - if that makes sense - probably a backwards way of putting it…

Yeah, just for fun and so this wish is a bit subjective, if not irrelevant… but this is the critique section… but I’d give this a skosh more room at the bottom. no biggie.

Dennis, you ar right on both the downward angle and the tilt. The camera was about a foot higher than the top of the plant, but that was deliberate. The top was where all the red was, and I wanted that more than a lower POV. The tilt was there for a similar reason; the plant was over heavy on the left, so I put the tilt in to compensate for it. Not so much deliberately, but more intuitively.

Good call. I am going to put in Dennis’ tilt correction as well, just to see how it looks.

Definitely better.

I do like the repost better Phil. The added space at the bottom helps reduce the high angle feel as well.
