The photographer is looking for generalized feedback about the aesthetic and technical qualities of their image.
Description
Civita is an area in the centre of the old city of Matera. The photo shows the eastern end of Civita in front of the ravine when the sun just begins to appear but the night still resists in the shades. It’s a summary of Matera: some lately renovated rock houses, medieval houses and palace built with tuf bocks, two barrel roofs and all mixed with a modern house ( to death whoever granted the authorization to built it).
Specific Feedback
Any advice for improving the image.

Beautiful work, Giuseppe. Thanks for posting this in Everything Else. I’ve been jealous of the posts you’ve been making in Landscape. The light is fabulous and I really like the composition. The one man on the road seems to add to the feel of the image.
Just give that new house a few centuries and it will blend right in.
Gigi, that’s exactly what I thought when I saw that horrid modern addition. Probably belongs to the mayor, and HE approved it…
This is another gorgeous image of what must be an amazing place. The street man adds a lot in interest and perspective.
Perhaps a bit more room on the top would be an improvement, to balance the lower path.
Exceptional work!
A gorgeous look back in history! The light is awesome!! Looks like history is as poorly valued here as in the rest of the world. But at least we will have photographs like yours to remind us of what was.
Giuseppe your recent shots of Matera show the ancient town at it’s best, each of them carefully composed with beautiful lighting.
Matera is a special place, like a city lost in time.
I was fortunate to spend some time there a few years ago, as well as the obvious beauty of the city, one evening in a local restaurant I had the finest meal that I have ever had in my life… only in Italy.
I hope to return.
@Dennis_Plank, @SandyR-B, @Diane_Miller, @Bill_Fach, @Ryan_H thanks for your gratifying comments, I am very glad that you like so much this photo. @SandyR-B I can’t add room on the top because there is another moder house. To death for this too. @Ryan_H you can safely return to Matera because the meals are still excellent.
